If you have not applied or registered students, please go to the Registration web site (, create a username and password, and enter your contact information. You will not be asked for information about your children at this time. When we announce the opening of the application period, we will send e-mail to you at the addresses you have provided.

Please carefully read the information below, so you understand our application/registration process.

Thank you for your interest in the Adventure in Science (AIS) program. Because of the high level of interest in the AIS program, we offer priority enrollment to current successful participants and their siblings. After priority enrollment, acceptance into the program is on a space-available basis filled by lottery. (You do not have to be a member of 4-H in advance, as membership in 4-H is automatically included.) When registration is open, a link to the AIS Registration Agreement, Parent Volunteer Response Form, and your child(ren)’s 4-H enrollment form(s) will appear. After all forms have been completed and submitted, you will receive a e-mail notification of receipt. A second, separate e-mail will be sent notifying you of your child(ren)'s acceptance. Upon receipt of this second acceptance notification, you must submit on-line payment within two weeks to confirm your slot.

For your registration to be accepted, you must fill in all of the forms and submit them during the open registration period. Please note the ages and other requirements for acceptance at each site and the location of the sites before registering.

The fee is $75.00 for the first child and $50.00 for each additional child in the same family. The fee supports the Adventure In Science program throughout the year. (NO refund will be made after the second week of the class.) Payment is made on-line; please follow the directions in your acceptance e-mail immediately upon receiving confirmation of your child(ren)'s enrollment. Registration is not complete without receipt of payment. If your child is in need of financial support to participate in AIS, please call the 4-H Office at 301-590-2804 for a scholarship application form.

There will be a Parents' Orientation in September, which all first-time parents need to attend. The location and time will be provided upon acceptance into the program. Your contribution of time is important to the success of your child’s AIS experience. The program would not be possible without the support of each parent, site manager, and scientist/teacher who volunteer time and skills.

If you have friends who wish to enroll in the AIS program, direct them to this website. They can also obtain information on the program from Alganesh Piechocinski at 301-590-9638 x2804 or
